Free Butoh School (founded by Honza Svasek) organized workshops and weekly performances. The students were from different continents and different countries. In addition to purely performance content (Butoh dance, acting, art therapy, actor training, dance improvisation, choreography, singing, working with props etc.), the emphasis was on involving the local population in several villages around the city of Tumkur, as well as in the city itself. Workshops and performances were organized in local elementary and high schools, boarding schools for abandoned children, a local theater, on the street, in a monastery, and on the slopes of the jungle.
